I like to try and remember this quote, especially when I have anxiety and my thoughts start to spiral.
I find it’s pretty easy to get caught up in my own thoughts sometimes, especially these days when everything is so automatic. You text a friend and they don’t reply straight away, you start to worry and next minute you’re thinking they might be mad at you / or maybe they’ve fallen and broken both their wrists. In reality they’re probably making a cup of tea or mid conversation with someone else (or pouring a vodka / orange in my friends’ case and talking to their dog). Sometimes you need to take a breath or ten and remember thoughts are just thoughts, they can’t hurt you unless you let them.
